Team Leader Mechanical Fitter (Damen Shiprepair Amsterdam)

As a Team Leader Mechanical Fitter at Damen Shiprepair Amsterdam, you combine hands‑on expertise with leadership on the shipyard. You will lead a team of mechanical fitters who execute assembly work on seagoing vessels, including dismantling and assembling pumps, winches, shafts, gearboxes, and more.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work: define work order, distribute tasks, plan capacity, and ensure tools and materials are available according to drawings.
• Lead a team of mechanical fitters and ensure work is executed properly.
• Follow safety and company regulations.
• Contribute to efficiency improvements and support company objectives.

Experience & Qualifications

• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and diesel engines.
• Experience in ship repair, shipbuilding, or offshore.
• Ability to read technical drawings independently.
• VCA VOL certified, or willing to obtain it.
• Leadership and motivational skills; stress‑resistant.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
