Plant and Value Chain Optimization Director

Role description

As Plant and Value Chain Optimization Director at Drax, you will lead end-to-end optimization of manufacturing and value chain activities across our energy and utilities operations. You will design and execute strategies to increase plant efficiency, reduce costs, and lower carbon intensity while maintaining safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Partnering closely with engineering, supply chain, commercial, and sustainability teams, you’ll use advanced analytics, Lean methodologies, and best-in-class technologies to identify bottlenecks, streamline processes, and enhance asset performance from fuel sourcing through power generation and delivery. You’ll oversee complex optimization programs, manage budgets and risks, and report performance to senior leadership. This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and the ability to translate operational data into actionable improvements in a fast-evolving, low‑carbon energy environment at Drax, where inclusive culture and responsible energy use are core values.
