Role description

Job Title: Drapery Tailor

Location: North York, ON

Pay: $23–$26/hour (depending on experience)

Job Type: Full-Time | In Person

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, sew, and finish custom draperies, sheers, valances, Roman shades, and other window treatments.
• Operate industrial sewing machines, domestic machines, and sergers/overlock machines.
• Create custom pleats, hems, headings, linings, blackout/interlining, and thermal treatments.
• Sew trims, banding, embellishments, and decorative details.
• Match patterned and directional fabrics accurately.
• Read work orders, measurements, drawings, and fabrication specifications.
• Calculate fabric yardage and material requirements.
• Inspect finished products and make adjustments or repairs as required.
• Work with designers, project managers, and installation teams to meet deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Requirements

• Experience as a Drapery Tailor, Tailor, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of drapery styles, sewing techniques, and fabrication standards.
• Proficiency with industrial sewing equipment and hand-finishing.
• Ability to accurately read measurements, work orders, and design specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to handle large fabric rolls and finished panels.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
