Evaluates speech, language, cognition, swallowing, voice, oral-motor functions, non-speech communication, developmental assessments and auditory screenings. Plans and implements individual and group treatments, provides education and trainings and communicates with physicians and other health professionals. Serves as technical specialist on daily tasks and cases. Regularly models/mentors and trains staff on technical skills.Job Requirements:Education and Work Experience:Masters Degree or foreign equivalent: RequiredThree years technical experience: PreferredLicenses/Certifications:Speech Pathologist licensure in the state of practice: RequiredCardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: RequiredAmerican Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC): PreferredFacility Specific License/Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: RequiredCertificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP): RequiredEssential Functions:Completes comprehensive and accurate clinical documentation within established deadlines.Completes evaluations to ensure quality standards and addresses assessment areas that require attention. Uses appropriate clinical techniques and tools, establishes individualized treatment plans for patients and completes necessary documentation.Meets established department and hospital in-service standards for attendance, presentation and coordination.Meets established special project participation standards, as assigned within the department.Provides therapy interventions using appropriate treatment protocols and techniques.
