Solution Architect
Role description
We're working with a company that builds SaaS software that powers the hospitality industry - helping hotels, restaurants, and hospitality groups run smarter, connect their systems, and deliver better guest experiences. They're now looking for a Solution Architect to help shape how the product connects with the world.
As Solution Architect, you'll be the technical bridge between the product, the engineering teams, and the partners and customers who integrate with the platform. You'll design scalable solutions built on APIs and microservices, help define the integration architecture, and ensure the platform can grow without breaking under its own weight.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who enjoys solving real architectural problems - not just drawing diagrams, but working closely with engineers, product managers, and sometimes customers to get solutions right.
The company is open to a range of seniorities for this role, from a strong mid-level architect ready to grow, through to a seasoned lead who can set technical direction across teams. Candidates are encouraged to share where they see themselves, and the conversation will be shaped accordingly.
Responsibilities
- Design and document solution architectures for new features, integrations, and partner connections
- Own the technical vision for how APIs and microservices evolve as the platform scales
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure designs are implementable, secure, and maintainable
- Translate business and customer requirements into concrete technical solutions
- Guide integration projects with third-party hospitality systems (PMS, POS, channel managers, booking engines, etc.)
- Act as a technical advisor to product managers, customers, and partners
- Help define and evolve architecture standards, patterns, and best practices across the organization
- Identify technical risks early and propose pragmatic solutions
Requirements
- Strong, demonstrable experience designing API-driven and microservices-based architectures
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, integration patterns, and cloud infrastructure
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- A pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset — balancing ideal architecture with what actually ships
- Comfortable working directly with engineering teams as well as product and business stakeholders
- Experience in a SaaS environment
The Offer
- The chance to be part of a product that's actively shaping how the hospitality industry runs
- Real influence over architecture decisions, not just implementation
- A collaborative, down-to-earth team based in Utrecht
- Room to grow - whatever seniority a candidate joins at, there's a path forward
- Up to €80k annually for the desired candidate
