Senior Software Engineer, WebWe build websites that handle millions of requests per day, presenting high-quality market data to our members and the investing publicWe operate at the tip of the spear, maintaining the primary interface for command and control of Cboe Europe’s three Equities venues, the APA Trade Reporting service and SI Technology serviceResponsibilitiesYou’ll design, implement, extend, and maintain web software functionality, often requiring advanced knowledge and experience. Create customer documentation. Act as project manager for a feature across multiple parties. Strong Python and Linux knowledge. Strong JavaScript (ExtJS, React, NextJS), HTML/CSS, and Django knowledge. Basic UI/UX design skillsImplement automated unit tests and rigorously test changes to systems and platform functionality prior to deployment and work to resolve identified systemic issuesHelp with production operations. Ensure features are correctly implemented in certification and production environmentsProvide input into team sprint planning and participate in periodic team meetingsParticipate in peer code reviewsParticipate in requirements gathering and analysis. Write documentation, technical specifications, and requirement materials for our data and applicationsParticipate in internal and industry-wide weekend testing as needed. Ability to support production systems and applications of the exchange outside of normal work hours to ensure performance and high availabilityMentor other software engineers. SME (Subject Matter Expert) for one or more systems/technologyPrioritize and manage time effectively across projects in a deadline-driven environment; deliver quality solutions on schedule and within budgetExcellent communication skills. Regular communication with management, key stakeholders, and technical colleagues. Be a positive representation of software engineering internally and externallyCboe Europe operates in a flexible and hybrid work environment, with our teams working regularly from our offices in London and AmsterdamPerforms other related duties as required or requestedQualificationsExperience with Linux or UNIX-like systemsExperience with Python or experience in another language with a strong desire to learn PythonFamiliarity with modern web standards, including HTML5 and CSS3Minimum 5 years of experience developing high-performance, data-driven websitesExperience with Python unit testing and full-stack web testing is a plusB.Sc Computer Science (preferred), B.Sc Computer/Software Engineering, or demonstrable equivalent knowledgeExperience with Apache, PostgreSQL, or ReactJS is a plusExperience with MVC web frameworks (Django preferred)Experience with JavaScript
