Senior Project Engineer (working US hours 1 PM - 9 PM)

Overview
To support our worldwide growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Project Engineer to join our Design & Engineering Team. As a Senior Project Engineer you will be the professional with intensive knowledge of projects, engineering and cold stores, contributing to the continuous knowledge development of the department. The focus is on being a true professional in project engineering and developing the engineering skills of the team, with responsibility for the design and construction of the building and its installations from the Business Development phase until final takeover by Operations. This role will support our Lead Project Engineer in Chicago, US; working hours will be shifted to 13:00-21:00. Travel to US projects is required about 1 week every 6 weeks.
Responsibilities
- Managing the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex designs. Managing the progress and identifying and manage risks.
- Overseeing product construction and testing to ensure completion of projects as efficiently and effectively as possible.
- Evaluating and improving the changes that substantially impact the scope, budget, or schedule of a project.
- Developing new engineering concepts for the benefit of our warehouses (for example Energy Management).
- Providing input regarding project outcomes and resolving escalated issues arising from operations in coordination with other departments.
- Providing strategic direction to ensure successful project outcomes and completion.
- Giving engineering life-cycle support to realized warehouses.
- Providing support to business development initiatives.
- Providing support to operational initiatives while safeguarding NewColds Design and Engineering standards.
- Providing support to sustainability initiatives and integrating them within NewColds standard design.
- Preparing tender packages for the general contractor and other specialist contractors.
- Supporting permitting processes and strategy.
- Liaising with local engineers for input on design.
Who are we looking for?
You have:
- Master degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- At least 10 years of experience in logistics real estate (in a role as contractor, developer, consultant or client)
- Evidence of a strong background in Project Engineering
- Willing to travel regularly
- Comfortable working in a dynamic work environment
- Highly proficient in English; any other European language is a plus
