Senior Cyber Security Engineer , serving as a Splunk Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage the day-to-day operation, upgrades, and architectural deployment of a large Splunk Enterprise environment.
Troubleshoot data collection issues and system instabilities to ensure maximum platform availability.
Design, deploy, and manage supported and unsupported Splunk Add-ons and Forwarders using centralized configuration tools.
Develop system integrations via APIs and maintain strict role-based access controls for collected data.
Oversee Knowledge Object Management, Common Information Model (CIM) tuning, and Enterprise Security configurations.
Author comprehensive engineering, change management, and security accreditation documentation, including Body of Evidence artifacts.
Perform security analysis and utilize network monitoring tools to enforce security policies and standards collaboratively.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, or 4+ additional years of cyber experience in lieu of degree.
5+ years of related systems administration or security experience.
3+ years of dedicated experience with Splunk and Splunk Enterprise Security.
Experience working as a system administrator or security professional within an enterprise environment.
Hands-on proficiency operating within both Unix and Windows operating systems.
Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Splunk certifications such as Architect, Consultant I/II, Admin, or Power User.
5+ years of experience with scripting languages (Bash), application development (Python, Java, Perl, .NET), and databases.
Demonstrated background implementing security and operational-related use cases.
Clearance Requirements:
An active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers via email, phone, or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
