Project Engineer
Role description
Westinghouse Electric Company – Mannheim
As a Project Engineer you will report to the Supervisor Engineering and be located at Mannheim.
Key Responsibilities
- Creation of backup analyses and higher‑level security concepts
- Preparation of technical security concepts for nuclear and other facilities, including site and building security, fire, intrusion alarm and hazard alarm systems, access control systems, video systems, telecommunications, intercom systems, and the associated concepts in IT security (SEWD‑IT)
- Preparation and/or review of application documents for supervisory procedures and approval procedures
- Handling, implementation, and management of plant safety projects, taking into account quality, deadlines, and costs
- Quotation preparation and processing
- Advising and supporting customers in the nuclear regulatory and licensing process
- Preparation of tender documents and specifications for components and systems of plant security
- Conducting discussions and representing the concepts and results in front of customers, suppliers, experts, and authorities
- Accompaniment of factory inspections, commissioning, and acceptance with customers, suppliers, and experts
Qualifications
- Successfully completed engineering studies in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or computer science
- Sound professional experience in nuclear technology or comparable experience focused on plant security and SEWD IT
- In‑depth knowledge of safety and security technology products for nuclear facilities
- Basic knowledge and initial experience in project management
- Independent and efficient way of working
- High communication skills
- Very good written and spoken English skills
- Confident handling of MS Office, ideally experience with MS Project and programming (e.g., S7)
- High willingness to travel
