Principal Engineer - Internal Developer Platform

Role description

Guidepoint is seeking a Principal Platform Engineer to lead the development of our Internal Developer Platform in Toronto while working in a hybrid model. Elevate platform capabilities and developer experience through strategic leadership.

You will blend your technical and leadership skills to guide a team in building a robust platform for modern cloud applications and AI workloads. Your work will directly impact how developers interact with infrastructure, ensuring they have the tools necessary for success while maintaining a focus on security and reliability.

Key Responsibilities: • Architect and deploy scalable Internal Developer Platform solutions • Implement GitOps with Argo CD for deployment automation • Manage Kubernetes platforms supporting microservices and data • Establish observability practices with Datadog • Mentor platform engineering teams with hands-on support

Requirements: • 5 years in software engineering followed by platform roles • Proven Kubernetes platform experience in production • Familiar with tools like Argo CD and Backstage • Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and IAC • Experience mentoring developers in platform practices
