The way printed circuit boards are designed is changing fast, with AI reshaping the entire design flow. We are looking for a PCBA design professional who wants to be at the forefront of that shift — not just keeping up with the tools, but actively pioneering how they are used.
About the team
The Electronic Design Services (EDS) group is a specialized service team within the Quality and Reliability Engineering (QRE) department. EDS provides PCBA expertise to all business units across the company, making for a varied and dynamic work environment with diverse activities and customers.
Your role
You are responsible for all aspects of PCBA layout design. Proficiency in high-end CAD tools is essential, and as more AI features are built into these tools, you are expected to embrace them and use them efficiently. The role calls for a unique blend of broad PCBA design‑flow knowledge, hands‑on AI experience, and scripting skills. You will work closely with electronic design engineers and specialists in PCBA technology, signal integrity, and power integrity, which is why a practitioner‑level understanding of these areas is required. Strong communication skills matter just as much, since PCBA design is a multidisciplinary, team‑based activity.
What you bring
- End-to-end design‑flow experience in PCBA development
- AI experience: hands‑on application of LLM tools such as ChatGPT or Copilot
- Scripting in Python/C/C++
- High-end CAD tools for PCBA design (such as Siemens Xpedition, Cadence Allegro)
- PCBA technology (materials, stack‑up, components, manufacturability, assembly)
- Electronic design, signal and power integrity, safety aspects (isolation and creepage)
- A genuine team player with strong communication skills
