**Job Description**
The Millwright will perform preventative maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and ongoing upkeep of high-speed production machinery in a modern industrial manufacturing environment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders, and hands-on experience with welding, machining, and fabricating to ensure equipment runs safely, efficiently, and reliably.
**Responsibilities**
Complete preventative maintenance procedures on production machinery to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all high-speed machinery within the facility.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to plan and execute maintenance and repair tasks.
Perform industrial maintenance activities on automated manufacturing equipment and systems.
Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective corrective actions in a timely manner.
Carry out welding, machining, and fabricating tasks as needed to repair or modify parts and components.
Support continuous improvement of equipment reliability and performance through proactive maintenance practices.
Work collaboratively with other maintenance crew members and production teams to coordinate repairs and minimize disruption to operations.
Follow all GMP, safety, and PPE requirements while performing maintenance duties in the facility.
Document maintenance activities and communicate equipment status and issues to appropriate personnel.
**Essential Skills**
Experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance environments.
Hands-on experience performing preventative maintenance on production machinery.
Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain high-speed automated equipment.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and work orders.
Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical and equipment-related issues.
Welding skills suitable for repair and fabrication work.
Machining skills for producing or modifying parts and components.
Knowledge of fabricating techniques used in industrial maintenance.
Understanding of GMP requirements and ability to work in a regulated manufacturing environment.
433A Millwright certification or eligibility/experience aligned with 433A standards.

Experience working in large industrial or manufacturing facilities.
Experience in preventative maintenance programs and reliability-focused maintenance.
Comfort working with heavily automated, state-of-the-art production equipment.
Ability to work effectively within a multi-person maintenance crew.

Attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices in a GMP environment.

**Work Environment**
This role is based in a large, temperature-controlled, and very clean manufacturing facility operating under GMP standards. The equipment is heavily automated and state-of-the-art, providing exposure to modern industrial technology. The facility employs approximately 400–500 people, with four crews of about 100 employees each, and maintenance crews consisting of around seven team members per crew. The site operates 24/7 on rotating continental day and night shifts (7 AM–7 PM and 7 PM–7 AM). A typical rotation includes working Monday–Tuesday days, Wednesday–Thursday off, Friday–Sunday nights, followed by Monday–Tuesday off, Wednesday–Thursday days, and Friday–Sunday off, continuing in this pattern. Compliance with GMP and safety requirements is mandatory, including wearing appropriate PPE such as hairnets, beard nets, coats, and safety shoes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hamilton, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $45.53 - $45.53/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
