Join the University of Waterloo as a Mechanic I Steamfitter focused on ensuring optimal operation of steam distribution systems. This full-time position supports a safe, clean campus.
Reporting to the Mechanical Services Supervisor, your role as a Steamfitter entails performing vital maintenance and repair tasks on steam systems. We require candidates to have a Red Seal Certification and at least five years of service and troubleshooting experience, preferably within an institutional setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute preventative maintenance on steam system components
• Repair condensation and heating systems effectively
• Install and replace necessary piping
• Diagnose and rectify steam system problems
• Create and interpret technical drawings and material lists
Requirements:
• Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification as a Steamfitter
• Five years of steamfitting experience mandated
• Experience within major institutions preferred
• Strong understanding of steam systems' operational standards
• Valid Ontario Class “G” driver's license required
