High School Math Tutor Wanted

Our hours count! Gain valuable teaching experience! Oxford Learning Dollard des Ormeaux is currently seeking part-time teacher‑tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.
Teacher‑tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre‑planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.
Position Requirements
- Work during after‑school and evening hours (3:30 pm – 8:00 pm) and Saturdays (9:00 am – 1:00 pm). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better.
- In‑person role – must be able to commute to the location. Relocation packages are not offered. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
Education
- CEGEP or Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Teaching certification an asset
- Good knowledge of the current secondary 1‑5 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry and Calculus, and Vectors, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Experience
- Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a Grade 7 to 11 (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities (Position Details)
- Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
- Teaching online and in‑person
- Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Filling in post‑lesson notes
- Completing daily student communication updates
- Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times

Job Type
Casual Part‑time (6 – 12 hours per week)
Salary
$16.60 – $18 / hour
Schedule
- Evenings – Monday to Friday
- Saturday availability
