At PCS UK, we are looking for a Lead Engineer with strong planning capability to play a key role in the successful delivery of complex engineering projects. Job Description
In this role, you will lead the definition of project scope, develop detailed schedules and deliverables, and help ensure the successful execution of engineering solutions from planning through to delivery. You will work closely with project managers, engineering leaders, product teams, and senior stakeholders to monitor progress, manage milestones, and maintain alignment across multiple projects.
Candidates must hold Sole UK Citizenship due to Security Clearance requirements.
What you’ll do
Define and develop schedules for complex engineering projects
Oversee the monitoring and follow-up of multiple projects
Align project plans and objectives with senior stakeholders
Define and maintain strategic KPIs for the engineering area
Establish control over project milestones by identifying main product and system parts
Review project scope in detail, focusing on deliverables and required activities
Create the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) with Project Manager and Engineering Leader involvement
Develop detailed project schedules based on activity definition, duration, and sequencing
Use project management tools such as
MS Project, Primavera, Excel, and Smartsheet
Identify critical path activities and recommend solutions with Product/Project Managers and Lead Engineers
Coordinate and control engineering activities, ensuring alignment with product leaders
Collaborate with product leaders to incorporate requirements and expectations into project planning and execution
Monitor planned vs. actual progress through internal interfaces
Incorporate schedule changes and assess the impact of Change Orders
Support the planning and introduction of new products to the market
Uphold
EHS
and
QMS
standards, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal procedures
What we’re looking for
Sole UK Citizenship and SC Clearance eligibility
Degree in
Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Strong experience in engineering activity planning
Proven experience in project management and team leadership
Knowledge of project management methodologies such as
PMI, Agile, or Lean
Strong negotiation, conflict management, and decision-making skills
Knowledge of rotary machines and/or make-to-order projects preferred
Ability to identify key product/system parts to establish milestone control
Proficiency in
MS Project
and/or
Primavera , plus intermediate to advanced
Excel
Experience in cost and budget analysis
Knowledge of electrical, industrial, and power systems
ERP/SAP experience
Fluent English
Willingness to travel
