What We Are Looking For
We’re looking for an IP Network Engineer who has a passion for architecting, implementing, and maintaining a global, world‑class IP network. This person will be part of a team that owns all aspects of the network, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. They will own today’s challenges and the vision of tomorrow, including scalability, security, automation, and self‑service.
What You’ll Do
- Design, implement, secure, and maintain Bandwidth’s global IP network.
- Deploy and manage service‑provider grade routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Deploy and manage circuits and cross‑connects between vendors, customers, and peers.
- Provide guidance to other teams within Bandwidth as it relates to the network.
- Build and evaluate automation and self‑service strategies for the network.
What You Need
- At least five years of hands‑on experience working with service‑provider grade network equipment and technologies such as Cisco ASR routers, Cisco Nexus switches, Cisco ASA firewalls and VPNs, Cisco ACI, Juniper MX routers, Juniper SRX firewalls and VPNs, Palo Alto firewalls.
- Expert level knowledge of IPv4, BGP, MPLS, VxLAN, OSPF, and Spanning‑tree.
- Deep understanding of routing, switching, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Expert knowledge of at least one major vendor (Cisco, Palo Alto, or Juniper).
- Excellent self‑motivation and teamwork skills.
- Fluency in English, spoken and written.
