Role description

Become a hands-on leader with Lightspeed as a Manager of Data Science & Machine Learning in Canada. Lead your team to produce innovative data solutions while enhancing their capabilities.

You will manage a skilled team of data scientists, overseeing their projects from conception to deployment. Fostering a culture of collaboration and experimentation is key in this role, as is aligning with stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of data science initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the lifecycle of data science and ML models
• Prioritize and unblock team workflows daily
• Define and uphold modeling best practices
• Partner with teams for successful model deployment
• Represent data initiatives in leadership meetings

Requirements:
• 3 years of direct data science experience
• 4+ years in managing data science teams
• Proficient in Python and ML engineering
• Familiar with modern MLOps and cloud ML tools
• Strong strategic and communication skills
