Foreman Pipefitter

Role description

Niron Staal Amsterdam B.V. is a specialized steel construction, machining, and piping company located in the Port of Amsterdam. Since 2015 the pipe fitting department has grown to 15–20 pipe fitters, TIG welders, a production coordinator, and two project managers. Due to increasing workload we are looking for a Foreman to lead the team.

• Proper preparation, including determining work sequence, capacity planning, and ensuring availability of tools and materials.
• Allocating work based on established schedules and overseeing quality and quantity.
• Leading a group of pipe fitters and TIG welders, ensuring competent performance.
• Ensuring workplace safety, adhering to safety and company regulations, and maintaining a clean work environment.
• Providing instructions and guidance, monitoring progress and quality, and applying personal knowledge to keep up-to-date in the field.
• Timely reporting of work-related issues and proactive thinking to contribute to increased efficiency and promote company objectives.

• MBO level of education.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within steel construction, preferably in the maritime sector.
• Proficiency in reading drawings independently.
• Willingness to work evenings or weekends and to travel to other locations/yards when executing projects.
• Holds a VCA VOL certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Problem‑solving ability, good communication skills (Dutch and/or English), leadership and motivational capabilities.
• Team player capable of collaborating with colleagues and customers.

• Salary between €3,900 and €4,600 gross per month (full‑time), depending on knowledge and experience.
• Position falls under the Metaal & Techniek collective labour agreement.
• 27 vacation days and 13 ADV days per year (full‑time), holiday allowance, travel expense at €0.23/km, and a solid pension scheme.
