The organization is supported by leading institutional investors and positions itself as a fund that combines financial returns with positive impact, looking to address three identified “Grand Challenges” the food economy had a significant role in creating and therefore solving:

From its offices in Amsterdam and Boston, it manages multiple funds of approximately €150–250 million per fund and is working on the launch of a new Fund (III). Investments mainly take place in Series A/B rounds (typically US$1–10 million).

The Amsterdam office holds ultimate responsibility for all financial activities across both offices and works closely with the team in Boston.

The Position
We are seeking a proactive, analytically strong, and detail-oriented Finance & Operations Associate who maintains oversight of all financial processes within the funds and the management organization. You will be trained by the Finance Director and gain experience in an international investment environment.
In this role, you ensure that management has access to up-to-date and reliable financial data and clear insight into the performance of the funds. You coordinate quarterly investor reporting with the external fund administrators, are involved in capital calls, and assist in the preparation of investment meetings.
You will have an active role in the preparations and administrative processes for Fund III, including creating new LP profiles, processing closing documentation and structuring investor data.
You are closely involved in the fund audit and the annual financial statement review (NL GAAP). Additionally, you analyze portfolio company data, support cost allocations, monitor cash flow, and ensure that all financial processes run smoothly.

Key responsibilities and tasks
- Coordinate quarterly reporting, capital calls, and distributions with the external fund administrator
- Managing LP profiles and closing administration (Fund III)
- Prepare data and reports for the Investment Committee
- Collect, review, and process quarterly portfolio data (financial and non‑financial information)
- Contribute to management fee calculations and cost allocations
- Support audit and annual financial statement processes (NL GAAP)
- Monitor fund cash flows, obligations, and budgets
Firm Finance & Operations:
- Coordinate with external accountants regarding management entities, payments, and cost classification
- Review invoices, expense claims, and month‑end closings
- Prepare internal reports, budgets, and forecasts
- Coordinate audits and tax filings with external advisors
- Maintain data consistency and document management (SharePoint, Fundrbird, Exact, Pleo)
Compliance & Legal Coordination:
- Support KYC/AML processes for investors and portfolio companies
- Manage compliance registers and policy overviews
- Assist with EuVECA, AIFMD, and SFDR reporting
- Coordinate with external compliance specialists and legal advisors
Candidate Profile
- Completed HBO or WO degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or similar;
- Approximately 4–8 years of relevant work experience, preferably in Audit (Big 4) or fund administration (trust/PE/VC services);
- Familiar with fund reporting, regulations, and operational processes;
- Experience with financial statements, fund accounting, or reporting in an international setting;
- Experience with or affinity for regulations (AIFMD, SFDR, KYC, AML) is a plus;
- Strong Excel skills and affinity with financial systems;Accurate, structured, and able to meet deadlines;
- Open, curious, and proactive; willing to take on new topics independently;
- Strong communication skills towards external parties (accountants, administrators, compliance);
- Fluent in English (written and spoken), as this is the working language; Dutch fluency is preferred but not mandatory.
