Experienced Bookkeeper -Ilford | Chartered Accountancy Practice | Full Time, Permanent

Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a well-established chartered accountancy practice in Ilford, which is looking to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper to join its growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper who enjoys working with a variety of clients and is looking for a role within a professional, friendly and supportive practice environment.
Working with a diverse portfolio of clients, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely bookkeeping services, helping clients maintain their financial records and ensuring their accounts are kept up to date.
Your responsibilities as the Bookkeeper will include:
Maintaining accurate financial records for a portfolio of clients
Processing purchase and sales invoices
Recording and reconciling bank transactions
Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Preparing VAT returns
Processing journals and other accounting transactions
Maintaining accounts payable and receivable records
Assisting with the preparation of management accounts
Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and provide support
Supporting the wider practice team with accounting and bookkeeping requirements
The successful candidate will have solid bookkeeping experience, ideally gained within an accountancy practice, and will be comfortable working across multiple clients.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience in a bookkeeping role
Experience working within an accountancy practice is desirable
Good knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
Experience with VAT returns and reconciliations
Good communication skills and a client-focused approach
The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
