4 12 shifts per month , offering a variety of day, evening, and overnight shifts. With approximately

22,000 annual ED visits , strong APP support, and relatively limited trauma responsibilities, this assignment provides an appealing balance of clinical volume and manageable acuity.

Clinical Responsibilities

Physicians will provide routine Emergency Medicine care, including:
Evaluation and treatment of emergency department patients
Management of acute and emergent conditions
Resuscitation and codes
Coordination of admissions and transfers
General ED procedures and patient management
The department's disposition profile includes approximately

77% discharges and 14% admissions , with additional observation and transfer activity.

Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
Completion of an ACGME/AOA-approved Emergency Medicine residency
Actively practicing Emergency Medicine within the past 12 months, or completed EM residency within the past 6 months
Active Iowa medical license or IMLC pathway
Iowa DEA
ACLS, BLS, PALS, and ATLS
Clean malpractice/background history preferred
IMLC:

Iowa participates in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact; eligible physicians may pursue Iowa licensure through the IMLC pathway.
