Role description
Joule Technologies BV is part of a group that develops, produces, and markets HVAC products such as ventilation, heat pumps, and related items under the brands Inventum, Joule, ComfortZone, Climer, and Videra, primarily sold in Western Europe.
The Control & Connectivity department develops all firmware that drives our products and an internally developed Cloud platform. Having firmware development in-house allows complete control over the products and the ability to add new features easily. The Cloud supports our mobile app, various APIs, and installers' dashboards with real‑time data.

In this role you develop software within a multidisciplinary project, working closely with a team of software engineers at our Uden location. You mainly program firmware for our heat‑pump controllers—including control loops and other algorithms—as well as firmware for our thermostats and related Zigbee products. Following the Scrum method, you work in a team, tackle user stories, and contribute to our Cloud.
Wie ben jij?
Product‑oriented, results‑focused, and eager to learn. You value knowledge sharing and implement high‑quality software with a solid testing strategy. You are equally effective individually and in a team.
Minimum requirements:
- Minimum HBO work and thinking level
- Continuous self‑development as a software engineer
- Automated translation of customer specifications into technical solutions
- Excellent command of English
- Experience with C++, Zigbee, Espressif toolchain, MQTT, CMake, FreeRTOS, Scrum, CI/CD, and unit testing
Wat bieden wij jou?
A dynamic role in a turbulent, changing, and growing technical environment with room for personal development. Primary and secondary employment conditions are market‑conform, commensurate with the role's importance, and depend on education and experience.
