Responsibilities
- Supervise the installation of electrical systems including MV/LV distribution, switchgear, UPS systems, busbars, cabling, containment, and lighting.
- Oversee subcontractors and coordinate site activity in line with construction programmes and design specifications.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies on site.
- Monitor daily site progress and report to the project management team.
- Review and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
- Identify and resolve issues related to electrical installation, commissioning, or design changes.
- Liaise with engineers, QA/QC teams, and commissioning personnel to support seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Ensure accurate documentation, including test sheets, red-line drawings, method statements, and risk assessments.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience supervising electrical installations on large-scale construction projects; data centre or mission-critical facility experience is highly preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of LV/MV systems, generator backup systems, UPS, and power distribution.
- Proven ability to manage electrical subcontractors and ensure project deadlines are met.
- Solid understanding of commissioning processes and quality assurance in electrical systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications confidently.
- Relevant electrical trade qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent).
- Optional: ECS/CSCS Card, Safe Pass, SSSTS/SMSTS, or other relevant safety certifications.
