In this role, you will:
- Provide electrical engineering support and troubleshooting for mining and milling operations.
- Investigate equipment and system failures and develop solutions to improve reliability and performance.
- Lead and support electrical engineering projects, including scope development, cost estimates, specifications, and design documentation.
- Review and provide technical oversight for work completed by consultants and internal engineering teams.
- Ensure engineering designs and projects comply with Cameco standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Be responsible for asset reliability and continuous improvement activities related to electrical system infrastructure.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, contractors, and construction teams to plan and execute maintenance and capital improvement initiatives.
Required:
- bachelors degree in electrical engineering;
- four to eight years of experience in the field of maintenance and improvement of ---electrical systems or infrastructures in a production environment, preferably, underground and surface mining operations.
- eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and -------Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS);professional Engineer designation (P. Eng);
- knowledge in various aspects of electrical engineering, familiarity with applicable electrical codes and standards, high and medium voltage installations, electrical ---maintenance, troubleshooting, system improvement, operational reliability;
- knowledge in generators, transformer and distribution system, large size motors, PLCs, sleds, MCC system, switchgears/breakers/relays and other electrical equipment; an
- work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
