Role description
We are looking for a Design Automation Engineer with proven hands‑on experience in Tacton, ideally combined with a strong background in SolidWorks and mechanical design.
Today, many machine designs are still created manually in 3D, despite a high degree of standardization across platforms and configurations. The goal of this role is to help move from a manual design process toward a more automated, rules‑based and scalable setup.
You will play a key role in building, maintaining and improving the automation logic behind configurable machine designs, and is expected to become one of the internal reference points / knowledge owners for this domain.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain design automation models in Tacton.
- Support the integration of Tacton with SolidWorks for automated 3D model generation.
- Translate existing engineering standards and design logic into rule‑based automation.
- Analyze current manual workflows and identify opportunities for further automation.
- Work closely with mechanical engineering teams to capture product rules, variants and
- Help structure and maintain a robust and scalable configuration logic.
- Act as a technical expert in design automation and configurators.
- Contribute to improving efficiency, consistency and standardization in machine design.
Your profile
- Proven hands‑on experience with Tacton. You should be able to clearly explain previous experience and projects involving Tacton.
- Strong background in mechanical design / machine design.
- Experience with design automation, rule‑based engineering, parametric design or configurators.
- Ability to translate engineering knowledge into structured automation logic.
Nice‑to‑have
- Experience in machine building, industrial equipment, packaging systems or similar environments.
- Experience with other configurator or automation tools.
- Familiarity with product standardization and modular machine architectures.
- Experience working in cross‑functional engineering teams.
