Datacenter Engineer
We are looking for a hands-on Datacenter Engineer to support and maintain server infrastructure in a large enterprise environment. The role focuses on Windows and Linux servers, virtualisation, and day-to-day datacenter operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers.
- Support a virtual environment of approximately 1,000 virtual machines across 100 physical servers.
- Monitor and troubleshoot server, storage, and infrastructure issues.
- Perform server installations, upgrades, patching, and maintenance.
- Support datacenter operations up to the operating system level.
- Manage server-side networking and connectivity.
- Assist with backup, disaster recovery, and system monitoring.
Required Experience
- 3+ years of experience within a datacenter or infrastructure environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux administration.
- Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi or similar virtualisation platforms.
- Experience managing physical servers and virtual machines.
- Good understanding of server hardware, storage, and networking within a datacenter.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- VMware vCenter
- PowerShell or Bash scripting
- SAN storage technologies
- Veeam or similar backup solutions
- Experience supporting enterprise‑scale infrastructure
