Data Engineer.
Role description
Data Engineer
Groenlo, Netherlands
32 - 38 hrs
€ 4.000 - € 5.500
Hybrid
What are you doing?
We're building a smart, scalable pipeline that helps dairy farmers manage their operations through computer vision solutions. From edge devices deployed on-site to intelligent processing in the cloud, we turn raw sensor and camera data into insights, allowing farmers to run their farms efficiently and ensure animal wellbeing.
Your responsibilities
- Design and build robust pipelines for real‑time and batch processing across edge and cloud environments.
- Maintain reliable data flows from cameras and embedded sensors for training and inference.
- Collaborate with ML engineers to productionise models and deploy them on the edge.
- Work closely with ML/CV engineers to ensure data flows are efficient, resilient and traceable.
- Build minimum‑viable products that are used by our customers.
Your team
As a Data Engineer you will join our Expansion team, a dedicated team of market experts and technical specialists (Computer Vision, Data Engineering/Science) who create and validate fundamentally new concepts that complement our current solution portfolio. The team is defined by a fail‑fast and validation‑driven approach.
Our offer
As a Data Engineer at Nedap, you will make a valuable contribution to our goal of making people happier and more successful in their professional lives. The salary range for this role is between €4.000 and €5.500 gross per month based on full‑time employment (38 hours) and depends on relevant knowledge and experience. In addition to your salary, you are entitled to a thirteenth month, a good pension scheme and profit sharing with the opportunity to become a shareholder of Nedap. At Nedap, everything revolves around trust and autonomy. That’s why, along with your colleagues, you decide on your own working hours and vacation days to maintain a healthy work‑life balance. We also highly value personal and professional growth. You will receive a comprehensive introduction, and we encourage you to continuously develop yourself.
Required Skills
As a Data Engineer you’re someone who enjoys working hands‑on in a dynamic, startup‑like environment and feels comfortable navigating uncertainty. You take ownership and think beyond code, focusing on building end‑to‑end solutions that create real impact. At the same time, you value collaboration and enjoy exchanging ideas to challenge and refine your thinking. With a strong curiosity for the future, you like experimenting, learning quickly and discovering what works and what doesn’t.
Must haves
- Work experience: at least three years as a Data Engineer or a similar role, with strong Python skills for building data and ETL pipelines.
- Experience with embedded systems or resource‑constrained environments.
- Cloud: familiarity with cloud services (e.g. Blob Storage, Event Hubs, AKS, ACR).
Nice to have
- Containerisation: experience with Docker and deploying containerised applications.
- Knowledge of video data and processing tools.
- Familiarity with machine‑learning workflows and/or edge inference.
Good to know
You are available for 32‑38 hours. Hybrid (remote) working is common within Nedap and together with your team you will arrange your own working hours for a good work‑life balance. You are preferably present at our campus in Groenlo at least twice a week.
