I am working with a highly successful, private equity-backed organisation that is investing significantly in its data and technology capabilities. As part of a major transformation project, the business is building a modern Microsoft-centric data platform and establishing data as a strategic asset across the organisation. They are now looking for a Data Architect to take ownership of the enterprise data architecture, helping shape the future of reporting, analytics, AI and data-driven decision making.This is a fantastic opportunity to join during a greenfield phase of the journey, giving you the opportunity to define standards, influence technology choices and work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver a scalable and future-ready data platform.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop enterprise-scale Data Warehouse and Lakehouse architecture
Define and deliver the organisation's data platform strategy
Create scalable data models, storage frameworks and architectural standards
Establish data governance, security and access management frameworks
Design modern data integration and transformation pipelines across multiple data sources
Implement CI/CD standards and deployment processes for data products and platforms
Drive best practice across data architecture, performance, scalability and reliability
Skills & Experience
Strong experience designing and implementing enterprise Data Warehouse architectures
Expertise with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Platform technologies and modern Lakehouse architecture
Hands-on experience with Databricks, Unity Catalog and Delta Lake
Strong SQL and PySpark skills
Experience implementing Medallion Architecture principles
Knowledge of data modelling methodologies including Star Schema and Data Vault
Strong understanding of data governance, security and access management frameworks
