Assistant Project Manager E&I
Role description
Within Allseas at Delft, Capital Projects is the department responsible for executing large or complex internal investment projects in the offshore industry. There is an opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) / Control Automation Monitoring (CAM) to join the team of project and construction managers on projects including the upgrade of the newest pipelay barge Sandpiper, energy mapping of vessels as part of the sustainability programme, and the upgrade and redesign of the in-house trencher.
Your role
The Assistant Project Manager generally manages one or more work packages in compliance with the applicable management systems and governing rules and regulations so that these are delivered on time and within budget, to the required operational, quality and HSE standards and to the satisfaction of the internal client. In general, the Assistant Project Manager coordinates the project preparation and execution effort of supporting internal disciplines and manages subcontractors or suppliers that deliver goods or services required for the project. The work packages for this opportunity are related to the E&I / CAM sector, where the Assistant Project Manager will work closely with the Systems Department responsible for all E&I and CAM developments.
(Main) Job specific tasks- On-board and on-site work preparations such as installation, cable pulling and cable termination (subcontractor management)
- Responsible for subcontracting and procurement processes related to E&I / Control Automation Monitoring (CAM), including requisitions, purchase orders and contracts
- Direct contact with suppliers and subcontractors of equipment, materials and engineering services within the E&I / CAM sector
- Monitor internal disciplines and control subcontractors or suppliers so that agreed objectives are met, while instilling ownership and accountability
- Identify and implement process, strategy and administrative optimisations to facilitate the work of (Senior) Project Managers as well as the Systems Department under which the E&I and CAM teams fall
- Ensure outstanding project safety performance
- Support project-related internal and external cost reporting
- Act on behalf of the (Senior) Project Manager when authorised
What we expect from you
The candidate sought has a hands‑on attitude, is a good communicator, and is able to develop and maintain constructive relationships internally and with external parties. You are self‑motivated and have experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.
Besides this, you have
- BSc or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems and Control or equivalent, plus additional relevant technical and managerial training
- Training or experience in HSE Management, Project Management, Negotiating and Contract Management is preferable
- 5 to 10 years' experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry
- Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
- Willingness to travel
