Role Summary

We are looking for an

Technical

Application Architect

with strong hands-on expertise to lead the evolution of a legacy application landscape, combining

architecture redesign, code modernization, database refactoring, and performance enhancement . This role demands a solid grasp of

PHP-based architecture

and the capability to

design future-ready solutions

while actively contributing to

development, migration initiatives, and operational excellence .
Key Responsibilities

Own and define the

target application architecture

for a legacy PHP-based system
Lead

code modernization efforts , including refactoring legacy PHP code and introducing modern PHP frameworks where applicable
Analyze, refactor, and optimize

database stored procedures , reducing tight coupling between application and database layers
Design and implement

scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs
Drive

application and database performance optimization , including query tuning and application profiling
Lead and enforce

coding standards, code reviews, and architectural best practices
Actively contribute

hands-on development

in PHP and secondary technology stacks
Lead

migration initiatives

(platform, framework, or infrastructure modernization) with minimal business disruption
Implement and improve

DevOps best practices , including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployments, and monitoring
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into

clean, maintainable technical solutions
Ensure system stability, security, and operational excellence across environments
Ensure GenAI exposure
Required Technical Skills

Strong hands-on experience with

PHP

and

PHP frameworks

(Laravel, Symfony, Zend, or legacy frameworks)
Deep expertise in

legacy code refactoring and modernization
Strong experience with

database design ,

stored procedures , SQL performance tuning, and refactoring
Strong coding experience in at least one secondary language:

Node.js / Java / .NET
Hands-on experience with

Apache and IIS , including configuration and performance tuning
Strong understanding of

DevOps practices

(CI/CD, version control, automated builds, deployment strategies)
Experience with

application and database performance optimization
DevOps & Operational Expertise

Experience implementing

CI/CD pipelines

using industry-standard tools
Knowledge of environment management, logging, monitoring, and alerting
Understanding of

release management , rollback strategies, and production support best practices
Exposure to

infrastructure automation

and configuration management
Nice to Have

Experience modernizing

monolithic applications

into modular or service-oriented architectures
Exposure to

cloud platforms

and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Knowledge of security best practices for web applications
Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments
