The Interventional Technologist is responsible for completing Angiography procedures, scrubbing, setting techniques, and taking images.
This role will work the dayshift from 7am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Rotating Call on Nights and Weekends is required. Incumbent may be hired on as an Angio Tech in Training or level I, depending on qualifications and experience.
Coordinates patient care and communicates pertinent information to other patient care providers before and after procedures.
Participate in orientation and training of new angio staff. Provides teaching, coaching, and mentoring as directed by the unit coordinator and/or assigned preceptor.
Understands and operates IR equipment and related information systems appropriately to ensure that quality images are produced.
Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of anatomy, pathology, and patient positioning related to diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Anatomy and pathology knowledge related to invasive procedures and therapies
Equipment operation
Emergency response
Effective communication with patients, patient family members, and other caregivers.
Angio Interventionalist Tech in Training Minimum Qualifications:
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
An American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R) technologist who is currently attending and receiving formal training from an accredited training program or successful completion of formal training from an approved/accredited school or a licensed American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R) technologist who has been selected to cross-train in another modality
Minimum 1 years Angio/Interventional experience or Vascular/Interventional radiography certification
Vascular/Interventional Radiography (VIR) certification Preferred
Ongoing need for caregiver to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require caregiver to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment and supplies with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.).
