The Role
- Lead, coach and develop a team of analytics and data engineers, setting clear standards and fostering growth
- Own end-to-end data platform delivery including ingestion pipelines, data modelling and warehouse orchestration
- Design scalable, well-structured data models aligned to business concepts and usage
- Establish and govern a robust semantic layer to ensure consistency in metrics and definitions
- Drive engineering best practices including CI/CD, version control, testing and code quality
- Ensure data reliability through monitoring, alerting, incident management and proactive improvements
- Optimise platform cost and performance, including workload attribution and query efficiency
- Partner with stakeholders across analytics, product and leadership to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Communicate platform strategy, risks and trade-offs clearly to senior stakeholders
Your Skills & Experience
- Strong experience leading data or analytics engineering teams in a hands-on environment
- Deep expertise in data warehousing, data modelling and large-scale data platforms
- Proven capability in ELT or ETL design, pipeline orchestration and tooling such as Airflow or dbt
- Experience working with modern cloud platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks or GCP
- Strong understanding of data quality, observability, testing and data contracts
- Experience implementing CI/CD and software engineering best practices within data teams
- Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with technical depth and delivery ownership
- Confident communicator, able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
