About Futurewhiz, Squla and StudyGo
For nearly 15 years, Futurewhiz has been the market leader in Ed‑Tech in the Netherlands. Our brands – including Squla and StudyGo – help children and teenagers aged 3 to 18 learn and grow at their own level and pace. We’ve been a certified B Corp since 2020.
Squla is a popular educational brand among primary‑school children, parents and teachers. It offers more than 160,000 daily players and over 500,000 children playing games and quizzes in school. Our mission is to help children progress through play using gaming elements, attractive UX, and constantly changing content.
StudyGo (formerly WRTS) is the go‑to online platform for secondary school students to prepare for exams, with over 650,000 annual users.
About the Challenge
Our new platform focuses on learning‑experience‑driven games that help students practice and understand concepts in a fun and intuitive way. We are building a wide range of mini‑games – from simple, fast trials to complex mechanics – all designed around one consistent, high‑quality gaming experience.
Responsibilities
- Building and improving high‑quality, user‑friendly frontend features.
- Developing high‑performance, API‑driven web applications.
- Writing clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code.
- Taking ownership of features from development to production.
- Collaborating across disciplines to deliver the best possible product.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience as a Frontend Developer.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS, and SASS.
- Experience building high‑performance, API‑driven applications.
- Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals (algorithms & data structures).
- Experience building game‑based learning experiences, from simple to complex mini‑games, with a focus on consistency and engagement.
- Experience writing automated tests.
- Familiarity with common design patterns.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
