Java Engineer
Overview
Salt is currently hiring a Java Engineer for a client of ours in Amsterdam. The role can be done remotely within Europe.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software applications using modern development frameworks and best practices
- Write clean, reusable, and maintainable code
- Implement and maintain automated testing to ensure software quality
- Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and technical decision‑making
- Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues
- Contribute to incident resolution, root cause analysis, and documentation
- Support continuous delivery, deployment, and operational processes
- Collaborate with product, QA, and engineering teams to deliver business requirements
- Identify opportunities for performance, process, and system improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 3-5 years of software development experience
- Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, SQL / NoSQL databases
- Experience with test automation and scalable system design
- Good understanding of software architecture and distributed systems
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS technologies
Rates depend on experience and client requirements.
