Control Engineer (C/C++ | Embedded Systems | Horticulture Technology)

Why this role matters
You will work on the core control software that drives greenhouse systems worldwide. This is the foundation on which all other Priva applications are built. You’ll join a small, highly experienced team with deep domain knowledge in control systems and horticulture, where your work directly impacts real-world environments.
What you’ll do
As a Control Engineer, you will:
- Design and develop control software in C for embedded/industrial systems
- Translate Product Owner requirements into technical designs and robust implementations
- Work with existing (legacy) codebases and improve them step by step
- Apply control engineering principles to real-world greenhouse systems
- Ensure software quality through testing, documentation, and validation
- Collaborate closely with hardware, product, and domain experts
- Contribute to modernizing tools, processes, and development environments
What you bring
We’re looking for someone who combines software engineering with control systems understanding:
Must-have
- Experience with C programming (embedded or industrial systems)
- Background in control engineering / measurement & control systems
- Experience in technical software design
- Affinity with industrial automation or hardware-driven systems
- Comfortable working with existing/legacy systems
Nice-to-have
- C++, Python or C# experience
- Knowledge of XML
- Experience in greenhouse tech, HVAC, or industrial control systems
- Experience in embedded Linux or low-level systems

- A gross salary based on your experience in the range of € 4.200,- and € 5.500,- based on 40 hours a week;
- We find a healthy work-life balance important: working flexible hours combined with 30 vacation days a year and the option to buy more;
- Travel allowance of 0,23 cents/km with a daily maximum of 240 kilometers.
