Commissioning Engineer
Role description
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for testing, commissioning, and putting electrical installations into operation. Depending on your knowledge and experience, you will either start as an engineer looking to further develop your expertise or as an experienced specialist capable of independently managing complex commissioning projects.
For junior engineers, the initial focus is on becoming familiar with our technology through testing and verification activities at our facility in Staphorst. From this foundation, you will gradually progress towards commissioning activities on site. If you already have extensive experience in commissioning or start-up activities, you will be given direct responsibility for independently executing complex technical projects.
As a Commissioning Engineer at VONK, you will frequently work on site in short cycles, both nationally and internationally. You will be part of a skilled and engaged team where knowledge sharing, technical development, and collaboration are central.
In this role, you may also be involved in projects within the field of power electronics, such as testing and commissioning electrical converters and power conversion systems. This provides excellent opportunities for technical development and collaboration with colleagues from other engineering disciplines.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Performing in-house testing and verification activities on electrical installations;
- Carrying out commissioning activities on electrical installations, both nationally and internationally;
- Identifying and analysing technical deviations and contributing to solutions;
- Working in accordance with applicable standards, guidelines, and procedures;
- Coordinating with project teams, customers, suppliers, and fellow engineers;
- Identifying technical, process-related, and organisational risks and responding proactively;
- Recording and documenting test results and completed activities;
- Actively contributing to knowledge development within the team;
- Contributing to the correct and timely delivery of installations.
What we ask
We are looking for both ambitious junior engineers and experienced professionals who recognise themselves in the profile below:
- A completed MBO level 4, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field;
- For junior candidates: relevant internship experience or up to several years of work experience within electrical engineering;
- For experienced candidates: several years of relevant experience in commissioning, start-up activities, or comparable technical work;
- Good command of the Dutch and English languages;
- Willingness to travel for assignments both domestically and internationally;
- A structured, analytical, and solution-oriented approach to work;
- For experienced candidates, knowledge of relevant standards and regulations such as ISO, NEN, and international guidelines is considered an advantage;
- *For this position, the ability to obtain an security clearance is required.*
