Role description
We're supporting arguably one of the biggest data centre main contractor on an exclusive critical search as they build a brand new mechanical delivery team for a hyperscale data centre project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate mechanical engineering activities from design through to construction and handover.
- Review mechanical designs, drawings and specifications to ensure technical compliance, constructability and project requirements.
- Coordinate mechanical systems with Electrical, CSA and other project disciplines.
- Manage mechanical design deliverables, RFIs, technical submissions and design changes.
- Identify and mitigate design, technical and construction risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with consultants, subcontractors and site teams to resolve technical issues and maintain programme.
- Support value engineering, off-site manufacturing and design optimisation opportunities.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality and compliance with approved designs.
- Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams.
- Maintain key project documentation and ensure effective information control throughout delivery.
- Support project handover, ensuring all relevant mechanical documentation and technical information is completed.
Key Requirements
- Strong experience in mechanical engineering within construction, ideally within large-scale or complex projects.
- Proven experience working across mechanical design, coordination and construction delivery.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction methodologies and technical compliance.
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders including consultants, subcontractors and site teams.
- Strong communication, problem-solving and project coordination skills.
