Senior Cloud Infra Engineer - Kubernetes from scratch - Solid Python knowledge - Multi-Cloud / [...]
Role description
This is a fast-growing AI platform/product startup building enterprise-grade software for highly complex, operational environments across industries such as infrastructure, energy, and other regulated sectors.
Alle potentiële kandidaten dienen de volgende details van deze vacature zorgvuldig door te lezen alvorens een sollicitatie in te dienen.
The team is growing steadily and we're proud of the knowledge level that's we're able to attract. Next on the hiring roadmap is someone who loves greenfield challenges, taking ownership, drive initiative across Cloud infrastructure and make a lot of impact in a small team.
The platform is already being adopted by large enterprise customers whilst we're still in very early phases so you're designing for production and will ship fast! This is exciting and you will have a key role during the next phase of growth.
The challengeThe company wants to further build a cloud-agnostic platform capable of running consistently across different enterprise customer environments, starting from a strong GCP foundation while expanding toward Azure and Kubernetes-native deployments.
This is not a traditional operations role. we're looking for someone who can take ownership of Cloud infrastructure architecture, deployment strategy, and long-term platform engineering standards / best practices.
What you’ll be working on- Designing and maintaining resilient cloud infrastructure across Azure and GCP
- Building and improving Kubernetes-based platforms for production AI and application workloads
- Creating CI/CD systems that deploy consistently across multiple cloud environments
- Implementing infrastructure as code using Terraform and modern automation workflows
- Designing secure networking foundations including VPCs, ingress, DNS, firewall policies, and private connectivity
- Improving observability through logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting systems
- Enabling autoscaling and workload orchestration using Kubernetes-native scaling patterns
- Supporting distributed inference and model-serving infrastructure
- Defining IAM and RBAC strategies that balance developer velocity with strong security boundaries
- Collaborating closely with platform, AI, application, and security engineers
- Establishing engineering standards, operational practices, and long-term infrastructure strategy
- Treating infrastructure as software: versioned, automated, reproducible, observable, and reviewable
- Strong experience operating production infrastructure in Azure and/or GCP
- Deep Terraform and infrastructure automation expertise
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, ingress, DNS, and secure connectivity patterns
- Experience building and operating observability systems
- Strong understanding of reliability engineering, failure xgiwjmb modes, and security tradeoffs
- Clear opinions on modern AI coding tools and how they should be used responsibly in engineering workflows
- Pragmatic engineering mindset with strong technical depth
- Ability to balance speed with long‑term maintainability
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Likely 5+ years in infrastructure, SRE, platform engineering, or distributed systems environments
- Amsterdam-based hybrid setup with significant ownership and greenfield scope
- High-performance engineering environment with modern tooling and hardware
- Opportunity to help shape foundational infrastructure decisions early
This opportunity is especially interesting for engineers who enjoy building Kubernetes platforms from scratch and taking ownership of cloud infrastructure strategy in complex enterprise environments.
