Senior AI Engineer (LegalTech | Python | GenAI)
Location: Hybrid – The Hague (2 days/week)
Contract: Permanent or Detavast (temp-to-perm)
Start Date: January or February 2026

They’re building a GenAI-powered legal research platform that helps legal professionals drastically reduce the time spent researching and preparing cases — combining deep domain expertise with real AI innovation.
With over 7,000 monthly users and 100,000+ legal cases processed last month, the product is already making a measurable impact in the legal tech ecosystem.
The Role
As a Senior AI Engineer , you’ll take a hands‑on technical lead role in building and scaling their GenAI solution, working closely with a Lead Data Scientist and Backend Engineer .
You’ll help design, develop, and deliver backend services and data pipelines that turn complex legal data into intelligent, automated insights.
This isn’t a research or data science role — it’s an engineering‑focused position for someone who loves solving real‑world problems with AI.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in developing and deploying production‑ready AI/ML systems
- In‑depth expertise in Large Language Models, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) and modern NLP techniques
- Excellent knowledge of Python and advanced machine learning libraries (PyTorch, Transformers, LangChain, vector databases)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration with Kubernetes
- Proven track record in optimizing model performance, latency and costs
- Knowledge of MLOps practices, CI/CD for ML and monitoring of production systems
The Offer
- €92,000–€95,000 base + 4% bonus (36‑hour week, every other Friday off).
- Hybrid: 2 days/week in The Hague (Tues & Thurs).
