Sr. Control System Engineer
Role description
- Perform the integration of the FBW & Secondary Flight Controls system on the aircraft.
- Support the development of concepts, design approach and philosophy with the Flight Control system supplier.
- Perform/Review analysis to evaluate concepts feasibility.
- Develop, validate and verify technical requirements of the Flight Control System.
- Review/Prepare technical requirements.
- Review/Prepare test procedures.
- Execute test rig and/or aircraft testing.
- Review/Prepare test reports in support of certification activities.
- Resolve problems arising from in-service aircraft..
- Troubleshooting, root cause determination, corrective action definition and execution.
- Ensure compliance to the ARP4754 development process.
- Support trade off studies and life cycle cost analysis for future programs.
- Ensure the design process and the resulting equipment implementation is in line with client’s requirements and standards.
Required Skills
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in aerospace related field.
- You have been directly involved in the definition and certification of at least one FBW and/or Secondary Flight Control system.
- You possess a good understanding of all facets of system definition, integration, and certification and have a knowledge of aircraft systems and interfaces (e.g., electrical, hydraulic, avionics, auto-flight).
- You have knowledge of Part 25 certification process.
- You have experience in modeling and dynamic simulation of flight controls electrical and hydraulic actuators is an asset.
- You have a working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow simulation environment.
- You have some familiarity with other simulation environments such as ADAMS, or design tools such as CATIA would be an asset.
