Senior Graphite Engineer
Role description
As Senior Graphite Engineer, you will be part of the multidisciplinary Nuclear Department within the Innovations Division. You will take a leading role in the engineering of graphite as well as the definition, specification, and qualification of graphite materials and components for the HTGR core and related systems.
Key responsibilities
- Co-design the reactor internals;
- Interpret simulations and use this to optimize the design;
- Define and develop graphite specifications;
- Assess graphite behaviour under irradiation, oxidation, thermal cycling, and mechanical loading;
- Lead material selection and qualification processes;
- Develop and review test programs;
- Ensure alignment with nuclear codes and standards;
- Support safety analyses;
- Interface with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
What we expect from you
- MSc or PhD in relevant field;
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience;
- Expertise in graphite behaviour under irradiation and high temperature;
- Expertise in graphite interactions with other materials;
- Experience with material qualification programs;
- Strong analytical skills;
- Familiarity with nuclear safety frameworks;
