Does that sound like you?About the jobAs Process Development Engineer you will be part of the Process Development team of the Polymer Specialties Technology group.The Polymer Specialties Technology group manages as licensor and know-how owner the manufacturing processes and technologies used in the business line Polymer Specialties covering over 800 unique products at 13 manufacturing sites.
The products are divided over 4 major product groups: Organic Peroxide (OP), Metal Alkyls (MA), Complex Metal Organics (CMO) and Anti-Fouling and Suspension Agents (AFSA).As a Process Development Engineer, you will help shape the future of our Polymer Specialties technologies.
You will define development strategies and design, set up and lead pilot‑plant and on‑site trials to bring new products and production technologies to life.You will transform data into clear insights by designing experiments, interpreting results, and using advanced process simulation tools, supporting major site expansion projects by specifying engineering criteria and introducing state‑of‑the‑art technologies.In addition, you will drive continuous improvement by increasing yields, reducing costs, lowering emissions, and helping implement next‑generation process control systems that enhance overall plant performance.In short: you will innovate, optimize, and future‑proof our manufacturing processes—while working in an environment where your ideas make a real impact.In your future role as Process Development Engineer you willAct as R&D project manager, ensuring that assigned projects are delivered in scope, on time and within budget while coordinating with all relevant functions (e.g.
R&D, manufacturing and marketing)Set up, plan and execute pilot experiments and plant trials, and analyze, interpret and report the resultsContribute to projects as process development lead to ensure correct balance between process safety, chemistry and process technology requirementsCompiling process Know-how documents to ensure Know-how is well embedded in the organizationIdentify new product and process opportunities and technical solutions for yield improvement, cost reduction, emission reduction etc.Prepare conceptual designs for new or improved production lines and participate as Know-how owner in initial design phases of CAPEX projectsKeep up to date with new production technologies and develop, implement and improve existing methods and techniquesWe believe you bringMaster degree in Chemical Technology with at least 6 years of experience in the chemical industryProficient in the English language, both spoken and writtenGreat if you haveKnowledge of Process Engineering, Process Design and Scale-upExperience with working in Aspen PlusAffinity for chemistryWe believe you areA strong team player with excellent communication skillsHands-onComfortable working in a multicultural and international environmentStrongly analyticalIndependent, proactive, and confident in driving progressWilling to travelWe offer youAt Nouryon, we provide a great job and friendly coworkers, plus benefits in addition to salary.
