Plant Controller
Role description
Are you a finance professional with experience in manufacturing who enjoys combining financial analysis with operational decision-making? We are looking for a Plant Controller who will play a key role in driving site performance, financial control, and business improvement within an international food manufacturing environment.

Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: €65,000 base salary + up to 10% annual bonus
Languages: English (Dutch is a strong advantage)
About the organisation
For an international food manufacturing organisation, we are looking for a proactive and results-oriented Plant Controller. In this role, you will act as the financial lead for the production site, providing valuable insights, maintaining strong financial controls, and supporting operational decision-making.
This position offers broad exposure to manufacturing finance and the opportunity to work closely with site leadership and senior finance stakeholders.
What are you going to do?
As Plant Controller, you will support the manufacturing site by delivering financial analysis, performance reporting, budgeting support, inventory control, and operational insights. You will work closely with both finance and operations to improve business performance and support strategic decision-making.
What does your job contain?
Performance Reporting & Business Partnering
- Prepare and analyse weekly and monthly site performance reports.
- Monitor and report operational and financial KPIs.
- Analyse variances against budget, forecast, and prior-year performance.
- Support site leadership with financial insights and recommendations
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support the annual budgeting process.
- Prepare regular forecasts and outlooks.
- Identify business risks and opportunities.
- Support decision-making through scenario and variance analysis
- Maintain product costing structures within SAP.
- Analyse manufacturing variances related to materials, labour, yield, waste, and overheads.
- Support cost-saving and margin-improvement initiatives.
- Perform ad hoc analyses to support operational and commercial decisions
- Support inventory valuation and reconciliation processes.
- Participate in cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and support corrective actions.
- Assist in maintaining accurate balance sheet accounts.
Systems, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Assist during internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and group policies.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting and financial processes.
What does your profile look like?
- 5-10 years of experience in Finance, Controlling, or Accounting.
- Manufacturing experience is essential.
- Experience within food manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Strong background in costing, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Experience with inventory accounting and operational finance.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with SAP or a similar ERP system.
- Strong Excel and analytical skills.
- Ability to translate financial information into actionable business insights.
- Fluent English is required; Dutch is a strong advantage.
