Financial Controller

Role description

For our client, Meijer & Zanoli is looking for an ambitious Financial Controller. As Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial accuracy, efficiency, and insight. This position will report directly to the CFO. Working closely with our finance team and other departments, you’ll be responsible for overseeing financial reporting and budgeting.

Main responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting and financial activities, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. Keep up to date balance sheet files.
• Prepare and manage financial statements, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. Improve AO/IC of the companies.
• Collaborate on annual budgets and forecasts and conduct variance analysis to monitor and improve financial performance. Provide more in detail insights into the financials.
• Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance financial efficiency and data accuracy.
• Manage cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll processes. Insource financial processes currently externally managed and manage the operational finance team.
• Support audits and liaise with external auditors and accountant to ensure regulatory- and fiscal-compliance.

Qualifications

• HBO/WO graduated in a relevant financial area.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial control, accounting, or similar roles.
• Strong understanding of Dutch GAAP.
• Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems ("Exact").
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments.
