About the Role

This medior-level Business Controller IT role sits within the Finance team and focuses on the financial steering of the IT organization. The position exists to provide clarity and control over IT financial performance and to support decision-making on budgets, forecasts, and investments. You will work closely with IT management and other stakeholders to turn financial data into practical insights and advice. The role combines analysis, reporting, and business partnering, with a clear focus on cost control, investment evaluation, and financial performance across IT. The position also plays a part in improving financial processes and reporting within IT, while helping translate complex technical information into clear financial guidance for management and Finance.

Key Responsibilities

• Budget and forecast IT costs and investments
• Analyze IT spend, budget variances, and financial KPIs
• Prepare management reports and dashboards
• Monitor IT projects and investments against budget, progress, and return
• Build and assess business cases for IT investments
• Review costs related to software, licenses, cloud, and IT suppliers
• Support contract and supplier management from a financial perspective
• Advise IT management on cost control and financial decisions
• Improve financial processes and reporting within IT
• Translate complex IT information into clear financial insights for management and Finance

Required Skills

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in business control, financial control, or a similar finance role
• Higher professional education (HBO) or university degree (WO) in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or a similar field
• Strong interest in IT and technology
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• A proactive approach and the ability to translate financial insight into business value
• Fluent Dutch

Preferred Skills

• Experience with IT-related costs, projects, or investments
• Strong Excel skills
• Experience with BI tools

FinOps Responsibilities

• Support budgeting and forecasting for IT costs and investments
• Analyze IT spend, budget deviations, and financial performance indicators
• Review costs across software, licenses, cloud, and IT suppliers
• Monitor IT projects and investments for budget, progress, and return
• Support financial input for contract and supplier management
• Advise on cost control and financial decision-making
• Improve financial reporting and process quality within IT
