Patient Population

Hip and knee replacements
Mastectomies
Abdominal surgeries
General post-operative Medical Surgical patients
Required Experience

24 months of recent Medical Surgical experience

in a hospital or medical center
PCA (Patient-Controlled Analgesia) experience
Heparin drip experience
Epic EMR experience
Active Iowa RN license or Compact/Multistate license at submission
Preferred Experience

Post-operative surgical nursing
Experience caring for:

Hip/Knee replacement patients
Mastectomy patients
Abdominal surgery patients

First-time travelers accepted
Required Certifications

BLS (AHA or American Red Cross)
Required Documents

Current resume/work history showing 24 months of MS experience
Skills checklist (Medical Surgical specific)
Active Iowa or Compact RN license
Driver's license
Professional reference (Charge RN, Supervisor, Nurse Manager, Director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months) – preferred
Billable OT:

36–40 hours/week, Overtime after 40 hours
For 48-hour schedules, OT after 48 hours

Facility Policies

Local Radius Rule:

Within 50 miles = 10% bill rate reduction
Employee Separation Policy:

Former UPH FTE or PRN Float Pool employees cannot travel within another UPH market if employed within the last 12 months.
This restriction does

not

apply to previous UPH travel nurses.
