Position details:
Manchester Memorial Hospital is seeking a

critical care physician assistant

to join a strong, collaborative team of critical care intensivists. The successful candidate will provide holistic, high-quality care to critically ill patients admitted to the critical care unit. With your comprehensive knowledge of acute critical care conditions, diagnostics, and treatments, you will be expected to diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic diseases;

perform procedures ; order and interpret diagnostic tests; speak to patients and families about their conditions; and collaborate with a variety of consultants.

Physician assistant role scope:
Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), physician assistants perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.

In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, physician assistants develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists.

Physician assistants provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider's practice as designated by protocols, identify problems outside of their scope of practice, and refer appropriately to a physician.

Requirements:
Licensure:

Unrestricted State of Connecticut medical license (or eligible)

Training:

Physician assistant

Experience:

1+ years as an advanced practice provider in a critical care setting. Neurocritical care experience highly preferred.
