Kotlin Backend Engineer

Role description

The Position

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to join our engineering team in Zaandam .

As Backend Engineer , your main tasks will include:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and APIs for enterprise applications;
• Building and optimizing AI-driven systems , including automation and chatbot solutions;
• Integrating new features into large-scale systems and ensuring seamless data processing;
• Taking end-to-end ownership of backend systems, from design to deployment and maintenance;
• Collaborating with development teams to implement scalable and reliable solutions;
• Ensuring high performance, security, and maintainability of backend infrastructure.

Your Profile

• Completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field .
• Minimum 3 years of work experience as a Backend Engineer .
• Fluency in Dutch and English is a must.
• Strong knowledge of Kotlin, Spring Boot, and Maven .
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Postgres, MongoDB, and Redis .
• Familiarity with Git, GitHub, Kafka, and cloud-based backend systems .
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices .
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams .
• Proactive attitude with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement .
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
