Job Details
- Terms of employment: This job is for a full-time position (40 hours per week). Flexible / split shift work schedule is required. Weekend work may be required. French or English. Job start date is September 1, 2026
- Language requirement: French or English
- Salary: Wage offered is between $17 and $19 per hour. Future wage adjustments will be made when the provincial minimum wage rate changes
- Location: JeRe… lives in the city of Westmount, in Montreal, Quebec. The home is situated in a residential neighbourhood, school and parks are nearby. The city bus is easily accessible and is close by (bus #24). The major intersection is Wood + Sherbrooke St.
Duties
- This job is to help with the care of a newborn, a 2 year old, a 4 year old and a 6 yr old, and the children’s mother. The mother suffers from a chronic medical condition.
- Supervision of children when parents are not at home, and take the child to and from appointments
- Organize and participate in activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings to provide amusement and exercise
- Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
- Bathe and dress children as needed. Change diapers of the newborn, and prepare youngest children for naps
- Help mother with tasks basic activities of daily living
- General housework that will include doing laundry and some ironing and dusting rooms to ensure a clean environment
Qualifications
- Must have completed at minimum Canadian equivalent of secondary school education
- Must have at least one year of work-related experience as a caregiver
- Must be dependable, hardworking, independent, and able to manage the job without supervision
- Experience with young babies is an asset
