Pursue your passion for environmental education as a Student Assistant with the Institute of Urban Ecology at Douglas College. Flexible hours up to 20 per week at $18.42 per hour.
This unique role allows you to blend academic pursuits with practical involvement in sustainability projects. Collaborate with faculty and peers to organize events, create workshop materials, and cultivate the SOL garden. Your contributions will make a tangible impact on your community while you develop essential skills for your future career.
Key Responsibilities:
• Aid in the preparation and execution of workshops
• Design event posters and e-newsletter content
• Prepare necessary materials for various activities
• Help maintain and develop the SOL demonstration garden
• Engage actively during workshops and events
Requirements:
• Willingness to work at both campuses
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience maintaining plants and gardens
• Ability to perform physical tasks outdoors
• Independence and self-motivation in job responsibilities
